R Cafe
R Cafe, located in North Ridge, CA, approached me for a branding project, and I was immediately inspired by the creative direction they shared. This cafe is located across the street from Cal State University of North Ridge meaning that it gets a lot of young traffic. One standout element throughout our conversations were the typefaces we exchanged. These discussions served as the foundation for designing a custom logo that incorporated three distinct typefaces, while drawing inspiration from five or six others.
To bring their vision to life, I crafted a comprehensive brand kit that included multiple logo variations and a thoughtfully curated color palette that perfectly captured the plant-forward, cozy coffee shop atmosphere they sought. I also created a unique dog icon from scratch, along with various other design elements, which I then used to create a custom pattern to further reinforce the brand's identity.
Revel Therapy
Revel Therapy, based in Portland, OR, is a unique therapy practice focused on innovative approaches to grief counseling. When the owner approached me to design their branding, I was excited to bring their vision to life with a distinctive, impactful identity.
To begin the project, I carefully reviewed the client's initial inspiration and supplemented it with my own research to create a mood board. This board included a thoughtful selection of colors, fonts, and visual identity elements that resonated with the brand's essence. Then I dove into sourcing fonts, choosing one with a strong foundation and customizing it to create a truly one-of-a-kind look for Revel Therapy.
From there, I developed several logo variations, crafted a custom pattern for marketing materials, and curated a color palette that would set the brand apart within the industry. The result is a cohesive and memorable visual identity that reflects the innovative and compassionate nature of Revel Therapy’s approach to grief.

The Melting Jar Candles
The Melting Jar Candles is a small women-run business in Alpine CA. This client approached me on Instagram and loved my previous brand kits. At this time, I had only done one brand kit professionally. I was still learning how to manage clients expectations and my own goals when designing.
The design process for The Melting Jar began with open discussions around design themes, where we traded inspiration and ideas back and forth. At this stage in my freelance branding career, I hadn’t yet implemented inspiration images as part of my contracts, which became a key learning point in this project. After our initial discussions, there was a gap between conceptualizing the vision and diving into the actual design, and in that space, I lost sight of the client’s expectations.
This was a tough realization, but it was a pivotal moment in my growth as a designer. It taught me a valuable lesson about handling rejection and the importance of revisions in the creative process. Rather than getting discouraged, I took some time to revisit our conversations and re-examine the inspiration shared by the client. I then proactively shared additional visual concepts with them to ensure we were fully aligned on the direction.
This next round of designs completely turned the project around. The refreshed vision was exactly what the client had been looking for, and the final brand kit felt cohesive and true to their essence. The experience reinforced the importance of clear communication and collaboration in the design process, as well as the need to remain adaptable when things don’t go as planned.
The Romance Era Bookshop
The Romance Era Bookshop is a new bookshop in Downtown Vancouver WA. RE Bookshop is not only a great place to find used books at an affordable price, but also an inclusive environment to hang out and meet like minded people.
